Terms of Use

​Welcome to the ORO website (the “Site”), operated by ORO (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By accessing or using this Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Site.

1. Purpose and Scope

  • This Site and all content, information, services or materials provided on or through the Site (collectively, “Content”) are intended to support the mission of ORO: namely, to serve as a national platform connecting students and trainees interested in otolaryngology (ENT) with collaborative research opportunities, mentorship, and academic resources.   • ORO reserves the right to change, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Site — including the Content and features — at any time without prior notice.

2. Eligibility & Membership

  • Use of certain Site features (e.g., membership, event registration, submissions) may require that you register or log in. By registering or logging in, you represent and warrant that all information you provide is accurate, complete, and up-to-date.

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any account credentials, and for all activities that occur under your account.

3. Acceptable Use / Prohibited Conduct

By using this Site, you agree not to:

  • Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable federal, state, local or international laws or regulations.

  • Post, transmit, or otherwise make available any content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, abusive, hateful, threatening, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.

  • Use any robot, spider, scraper, or other automated means to access, copy, monitor, or harvest any Content from the Site (unless expressly authorized in writing by ORO).

  • Interfere with or disrupt the Site (or servers or networks connected to the Site), including via hacking, denial-of-service, or other malicious activities.

  • Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.

4. Intellectual Property / License to Use Content

  • All Content on the Site — including but not limited to text, images, graphics, logos, videos, and other materials — is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws and belongs to ORO or its licensors.

  • Subject to your compliance with these Terms, ORO grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive license to view, download and print Content for personal, non-commercial, educational use only (e.g., for academic research, personal study, or participation in ORO events). You must retain all copyright and other proprietary notices.

  • Any other use of Content — including reproduction, modification, distribution, republication, or commercial exploitation — is strictly prohibited without the prior written consent of ORO.

5. User Submissions (Abstracts, Research, Comments, etc.)

  • By submitting any materials to the Site (e.g., abstracts, project proposals, comments, or other content), you grant ORO a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to copy, publish, distribute, display, and otherwise use those submissions for the purposes of facilitating research collaboration, educational outreach, event promotion, or other ORO-related activities.

  • You represent and warrant that any content you submit is your own original work (or you have the rights to submit it), does not infringe the rights of any third party, and does not violate applicable laws.

  • ORO reserves the right — in its sole discretion — to accept, reject, remove, or refuse to display any submission, for any reason or no reason, without prior notice or liability.

6. No Warranty; Limitation of Liability

  • The Site and all Content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without any warranties, express or implied — including but not limited to warranties of accuracy, completeness, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

  • ORO does not guarantee that the Site will operate without interruption or error, or that it is free of viruses or other harmful components.

  • Under no circumstances will ORO (or its officers, directors, members, affiliates, or agents) be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your access to or inability to access the Site, use of the Content, or reliance on any content — even if ORO has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ORO and its officers, directors, members, affiliates, agents, and licensors from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to: (i) your use of the Site; (ii) your violation of these Terms; (iii) any submission or content you provide to the Site; or (iv) your violation of applicable law.

8. Modifications to Terms

ORO may modify these Terms at any time in its sole discretion. When we do, we will post the updated Terms on the Site and update the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Site following any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

9. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms and your use of the Site will be governed by and construed under the laws of the jurisdiction in which ORO is incorporated (or operates), without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Site shall be resolved exclusively in the competent courts located within that jurisdiction (unless otherwise agreed to in writing by both parties).
